The Office of the Chief Archivist of Lithuania is a government agency, which participates in the shaping of national policy in the field of management and use of documents and archives, as well as implements this policy, supports the Chief Archivist of Lithuania in the carrying-out of state administration of the field of documents and archives.

Exhibition “Lithuania's centennial pages” was opened in Vilnius city hall

Lithuanian state archives started to celebrate Lithuania's 100th year anniversary on the 6th of February. Exhibition “Lithuania's centennial pages” was finally opened in Vilnius city hall. Hundred most important events of last centennial Lithuanian history illustrated by archival documents are shown in exhibition. The speaker of Seimas professor Viktoras Pranckietis, Vice-mayor of Vilnius Linas Kvedaravičius, archivists, partners of exhibition, members of academic society participated in opening ceremony.

 

   

Speeches were made by speaker of Seimas professor V. Pranckietis, vice-mayor of Vilnius L. Kvedaravičius, the chief archivist of Lithuania doctor Ramojus Kraujelis, provisional manager of Vilnius City Hall Ieva Šiušaitė and project coordinator Vaida Jonušytė.
